ONO to Offer Advanced Web Mail, Calendaring, Search and Other Value-Added Services to 1.2 Million Subscribers in Spain
SAN FRANCISCO & MADRID, Spain -- Critical Path, Inc. (OTC:CPTH), a leading provider of messaging software and services, today announced that ONO, the premier alternative provider of telecommunications, broadband Internet and pay television services in Spain, is deploying Memova Messaging 8.0 - the latest version of Critical Path's consumer messaging platform for service providers. ONO is deploying the Memova Messaging platform to make messaging services easier to use and to provide a broader range of community-oriented communication and content-sharing services for its 1.2 million residential subscribers. The initial rollout will include improved Web mail and calendaring, as well as new search capabilities that will help ONO subscribers easily navigate the content in their Web-based mailboxes and calendars.
ONO aims to provide its customers with reliable, easy-to-use services that add value to their Internet experience. By selecting Critical Path's Memova Messaging platform, ONO can provide enhanced email services, as well as new, community-oriented communications services that can be easily integrated with email to provide a more robust service offering.
With Memova Messaging 8.0, ONO will provide a rich Web 2.0 experience with features such as: dynamic updates that allow users to receive new email messages instantly without refreshing the browser; drag-and drop-functionality and right-click menus on both the email and calendaring interfaces; auto-complete email address fields; and advanced search capabilities that can be integrated with a variety of messaging and communications services.
In addition, ONO has agreed to work with Critical Path to design and launch additional new services that will help subscribers better communicate and interact with their online communities and social networks. For example, Memova Messaging provides services, such as: content-sharing for user-generated music, pictures, videos and other content; network-based address book services that allow subscribers to store contacts online and access them from any device or application; contact-centric communications services that bring email, instant messaging, VoIP and other applications together in a single interface that revolves around the user's contacts.
"Critical Path is excited to work with ONO to provide a new and improved email experience and to lay the foundation for a variety of new services for Spanish consumers," said Jesus Calderon, Country Manager, Spain & Portugal and LATAM, Critical Path, Inc. "We look forward to continuing to work with ONO to leverage Memova Messaging as they grow and expand their consumer service offering."
